杉山は数年来Eklipse-Ellipse(蝕ー楕円)をテーマに制作を続けています。昨年の個展に引き続き、今回Wada Fine Artsで２回目となる本展でも同テーマを元に制作した作品を展示します。合板とステンレス棒による２m弱の高さの搭状の立体と小品の絵画から成り立つ展覧会です。 作家コンセプト 庭園を経巡る歩みのように、一歩毎の視点の移動と共に形を変える風景、現れては消える移ろう形。「不在の形」を造る試みと同時に、とどまる、上昇する、降りてくるという「移動の状態」を固定しようと試みる。又、二次元と三次元を往復する視覚を考察する。

Wada Fine Arts is pleased to announce second solo show-Eklipse-Ellipse/a spatiotemporal garden- by Hisako SUGIYAMA. SUGIYAMA has been working for several years on one theme; Eklipse (Eclipse in english) - Ellipse. Continued from the exhibition last year, She will exhibit the works that are created based on the same theme. This exhibition will be constructed by a few small paintings and a sculpture tower shaped object made with wood and stainless, that is about 2 meters height. Concept from the artist The views of landscape change everytime when taking a new step and the figures appear then disappear instantly like the steps we take when wandering around in a garden. I try to lock “the moment of the movement” that can be seen in the movement of staying, lifting and falling, as well as to corporealize the “form of absence”. Also I explore the influence on our visual thinking between two and three dimensional world.
