ワダファインアーツでは10月23日から11月16日まで、海老原靖の個展を開催いたします。 海老原の2度目となる本展では、いずれも“性”に焦点をあて、メディアの中に見いだされるイメージに対する奇異性、違和感、またそれによって生ずる喪失感と言ったものをキーワードに、肥大化する我々の欲望を描き出している。 古代から、尼に成る儀式の上で、重大な意味を持っていた“断髪”という行為からも連想させられる様に、『人間の髪というものは我々の煩悩を象徴しているかのようである』と 海老原は言う。 メディアのなかで我々創造者の手を離れ、一人歩きを始めたイメージ達。複雑に絡み合う髪のように彼らもまた複雑に入り乱れ新たな言語を作り出し、私たちを支配する。海老原のペインティングはそれらを読み解くパスワードを私たちに与えてくれるのではないだろうか。 本展では、”Lust” シリーズの為に描きおろされた、新作を展示いたします、 是非この機会にご高覧ください。

Wada Fine Arts is pleased to announce the second solo show by our gallery artist Yasushi Ebihara. In this exhibition, he presents new body of works that draw inspiration from our sexual desires in the era of digital technology. With his investigations in the media to our increasing desires, these paintings raise unavoidable issues through the keywords of strangeness, discomfort and emptiness that we have been experiencing in these days. He convinces human “hair” as a metaphor for sexuality. Looking back into history, we see that hair represent our worldly desires. For example, these images leave our control and begin to create their own linguistic structure and in turn control us. This structure grows in a way representing the relentless growth of human hair and seems to laugh of our resistance of it. His naive yet complex approach will offer us the key to open its paradox.
